The Objective
This objective was conducted in honor of and to keep alive the memory of SGT James E. Smith.
SGT Smith was KIA on 03 October 1993, in Mogadishu, Somalia during the fateful “Black Hawk Down” incident during Operation Gothic Serpent. At the time of his death he was serving with 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Lest we forget, RLTW!
Additionally, this objective was conducted on 02 October 2021, the day before the 28th anniversary the Battle of Mogadishu, also known as Black Hawk Down. To pay our respects for the six Rangers who made the ultimate sacrifice, we honor these men at the summit:
